Synopsis: Elegant scoundrel, spendthrift, leader of fashion in England's 18th century, Beau Brummell is all of these things. Favourite of the Prince of Wales he is envied by lords and admired by their ladies. A foolish remark leads to a falling out with his royal patron. He is forced to flee abroad and dies alone and penniless but with proud dignity - a gentleman to the end.
